Weekly Update January 29, 2018

Jump Rope for Heart

Vail Innovation Center will be participating in the  American Heart Association’s Jump Rope for Heart Fundraiser over the next few weeks. By taking care of your heart you’ll live a better life.  There is no room for destructive habits like smoking, drinking, drugs, eating badly, and lack of exercising when you are taking care of your heart.

The kick-off assembly will be Monday at 1:15 with all students in the atrium.

During Edgenuity time and lunch next week Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Murray will be jump roping with the students. On Thursday we will be holding a “best jumper” contest for each grade level in an effort to promote exercising and a little healthy competition.

The fundraiser will end on February 15th. Students will be taking home participation information on Monday.

Send us your box tops and collect a pop. Students will receive a lollie pop for five or more box tops. Thank you for your help and support.

After January 1st please contact us with any new student enrollment requests for grades 6-9. Be on the lookout for a survey monkey regarding your currently enrolled student(s).

Teacher/Parent/Student Conferences
Conferences are scheduled on February 9th and 10th.   Students will be released at 12:00pm on Thursday, February 9th.  There will be no school on Friday, February 10th.

The Conference schedule is as follows:
Thursday, February 8th         1:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Friday, February 9th              9:00-12:00 p.m. and 1:00-3:00 p.m.
Teachers will be available on a walk-in basis. We look forward to meeting with you during conference times. Students are highly encouraged to attend with you. Teacher/Parent/Student conferences are extremely important as they provide the opportunity for you, your child, and your child’s teachers to meet and review your student’s progress.  If you are unable to attend conferences during these times, please contact your child’s teacher via e-mail or phone to arrange for another opportunity to meet.

February 8th is a half day. Students will be dismissed at noon.

No School Friday, February 9th

VAIL PRIDE DAY is February 17th

VBL students will be participating in Academic Jeopardy, Math Bowl and we will have our art elective projects displayed as well! We hope to see you there!
